One shoot, three deliverable families. We planned the vertical crops on the day rather than reformatting in post, which meant every frame had two compositions designed into it.
Designed for two crops
Reformatting a landscape film into vertical always costs you something. We framed for 16:9 and 9:16 simultaneously on set, which let the vertical cuts hold their own composition instead of reading as offcuts.
